Theme: Centennial on the Horizon – Preparing to Welcome More Park Visitors will allow national park concessioners, the NPS and others to focus on ways to make 2016 successful in attracting and serving well new park visitors. Topics will include:

  • Encouraging, measuring and rewarding concessioner excellence
  • Enhanced, appropriate 21st Century national park visitor services
  • Centennial Campaign
  • Cell and WiFi access enhancement efforts
  • Economic Activity Dashboard
  • Succeeding in the NPS park planning process

Details: Our meeting will begin on Sunday evening, March 16. The NPS Concessions Management Advisory Board is expected to meet in the Washington, DC, area on one of the dates of our meeting, and NPHA has invited the CMAB to join is planning sessions which will assist both entities. NPHA’s meeting will include sessions at the U.S. Department of the Interior and on Capitol Hill. Lodging is available at the special meeting rate for several days before and after the NPHA meeting. NPHA members and meeting participants are offered a special rate of $283 single or double, plus taxes. Reservations must be made by February 18 and can be made by phone at (800) 263-9802. Please identify yourself as a member of the National Park Hospitality Association when booking to assure the discounted rate.

Transportation: Excellent transportation access to our meeting location is available through Ronald Reagan Washington National (5 miles), Washington Dulles
(28 miles) and Baltimore-Washington International (32 miles) Airports as well as AMTRAK service to Union Station (2 miles). METRO is 2 blocks away (McPherson Square Station).

Fees: Fees for the Park Partners Forum are as follows:
$600 for NPHA Regular Members - initial participant
$550 for NPHA Regular Members - subsequent participants
$600 for NPHA Associate Members
$250 for guests and spouses attending only social functions
$800 for non-members
$250 for National Park Service employees (limited meals)

The deadline for “Early Bird” registration is Friday, March 7, 2014. All registrations are discounted $50 until that date. A $100 fee will apply for cancellations on or before that date, and a $200 fee will apply for cancellations after March 7. Attire: Business casual for Sunday, and business attire for all other functions. March weather in DC is variable, but anticipate highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s and a reasonable chance of rain during part of our meeting.

Displays: Regular and associate members are invited to display information on new products, promotions, and offered services. Special focus will be on healthy foods and the application of new technologies to park visits.
